As of 1:30 on November 8th, Jack Martins conceded the race.
Last night, Democrat Laura Curran declared victory in the race for Nassau County Executive against Jack Martins. After a roller coaster of a night for both sides, with the numbers shifting back and forth for hours, the race was called in her favor.
Jack Martins has shown what this race was all about in his mind, and the answer is himself. His refusal to concede the election last night goes to show that he doesn’t care about our county at all.
I call on Jack Martins to call Laura, and congratulate her for the historic campaign that she has run. The people have spoken and the pendulum has swung. This race is no longer about Laura Curran or Jack Martins; it’s about what is best for the people of Nassau County.
Jack Martins and Laura Curran faced off for Nassau County Executive and the Democrats came out on top. Laura Gillan of Town of Hempstead made history last night as well being the first Democrat to be elected supervisor. Joe Saladino lived to see another day in Oyster Bay.
“Party affiliation aside”, as Laura Curran said during her victory speech, “we must hold them all accountable.”
